February 4, 1998 Afghanistan earthquake occurred in northern Afghanistan in the Afghanistan-Tajikistan border region.[1][2] Theepicenter of the earthquake was located at Rostaq in the Takhar Province near Afghan-Tajikistan border.[2] The magnitude of the quake was 6.1 on the Richter scale[2][3][4][5][6][7] and it lasted approximately 8 minutes and 7 seconds.[3] Aftershocks continued for the next seven days.[2] The earthquake was also felt at Tashkent and Dushanbe.[1]

Gerard John Schaefer (Wisconsin, March 25, 1946 – December 3, 1995) was an American serial killer from Florida. He was imprisoned in 1973 formurders he committed as a Martin County, Florida Sheriff’s deputy.
While he was convicted of two murders, he was suspected of many others. Schaefer frequently appealed against his conviction, yet privately boasted — both verbally and in writing — of having murdered over 30 women and girls.
